In Year Two our teacher is called Mrs Hughes and our teaching assistants are called Miss Leather and Miss Tavener.

We have three new pupils in our class this year, so we have been working very hard to make sure that they are as happy at St Andrew’s as we all are. The children in Year 2 have families that come from many places around the world. Some of us speak different languages at home such as Albanian, Turkish, Bengali and Chinese.

So far this year we have been learning all about the Olympics. This is our IPC unit this term. At the beginning of this term we had a very exciting opening ceremony to celebrate the start of this topic. Also our Science topic is called Variation. We have been looking at how animals and plants are the same or different. We hope to take a ‘wildlife walk’ around our local area to look at some of the plants and animals and see how they are similar and different.

In the next couple of weeks, we will be having our ‘Bring a parent to school’ event and we can’t wait. We will invite our parents in for the morning to come and help us make jigsaw puzzles.
