Science
Science is the third core subject of the National Curriculum and one which allows children to understand the world in which they live. It aims to stimulate a child's curiosity in finding out why things happen in the way that they do. At St Andrews’ we aim to harness this natural curiosity, through our science teaching and learning, and develop the enquiring minds that the children already possess. The children are provided with a range of opportunities to conduct scientific activities, including testing ideas, observing, experimenting and recording. Through topic based science work the children study areas as diverse as electrical currents, plant growth, forces and materials. We are proud of the results that we achieve and often celebrate the children’s work through classroom and whole school displays.
