Physical Education
In P.E. lessons, through games, gymnastics, swimming, athletics and dance, children are encouraged to enjoy using their bodies to develop physical abilities and co-ordination and to express ideas and feelings in response to music and other stimuli. This is an essential part of your child’s social and emotional, as well as physical, development. Every summer there is a whole school sports day and this is held off-site. P.E. is taught by specialist physical education teacher as well as your child’s class teacher.
Children are taught to be aware of the safety aspects of P.E. and the effects that exercise has on their bodies.
In addition to P.E. classes there are after school clubs for games, including dance and football. Children enjoy taking part in local competitions.
