Art & Design

Art is an essential part of the curriculum, providing children with the opportunity to create and to communicate, to improve manipulative skills and to heighten their sensory powers. Children use a variety of media to produce two and three dimensional work which is always celebrated on displays in their classrooms or around the school. They are taught to appreciate art and to be sensitively critical of their own work and that of others. Visits to the local area and to other places of interest often provide a stimulus to this work. We also strive to ensure that Art is a subject that can be weaved throughout the curriculum in areas such as History, Geography, RE and Literacy.
